TRAYVON MARTIN CASE: Killer appears in court for the first time

SANFORD | In the case of the murdered afro american teenager the assassin made his first court appearance. George Zimmerman was led before judge Mark Herr on Thursday who set 29 May as the date for the 28-year-old’s formal arraignment. For the time being Zimmerman may be released on bail. Zimmerman shot dead black 17-year-old Trayvon Martin at the end of February in Sanford, Florida. The neighbourhood watch member alleged that he had acted in self-defence and is due to plea not guilty. (afp)
