Putin shattered the pacifist convictions of many by marching into Ukraine and pulverizing its cities with missiles and drones, while others placed the blame solely at NATO’s door. The Hamas-led massacre in Israel was hailed as decolonial resistance by a number of leftists, who called to “globalize the Intifada”. Meanwhile Donald Trump upends the global order, remaking it in his own authoritarian, transactional image. And the global left scrambles, often futilely, to remain relevant, mobilize the masses and to not succumb to infighting. In this talk, Nicholas Potter discusses its present challenges and future potential with Eva Illouz and Paul Mason. The discussion will be in English.
